Singapore Shophouse Petain Road Original Gouache Painting
This painting was inspired by the beautiful shophouses along Petain Road in Jalan Besar, Singapore. The Petain Road shophouses were built in the early 1930's and have since been restored to showcase their beauty. This row of shophouses on Petain Road has been a favourite of mine since we moved to Singapore. I particularly am fond with the black and white tiles on the floor, the Peranakan tiles on the walls and also the intricate and unique carvings on each of the pillars. This painting is one of my favourite artworks I've created!
An original gouache illustration painted on 100% superior strength watercolour paper. The painting is on a 12x16 inch sheet with an approximate white border of .5 inches around. Gouache has a unique matte finish which gives this illustration a flat design type finish.
